FEBRUARY MEETING

Topic:

Mediation

This program features mediator and mediation trainer Steven Rosenberg, discussing the benefits of mediation and how to be an effective advocate in the context of mediation. The program will also introduce and discuss the pending changes to Yolo County's case management procedures and local rules increasing the role of ADR procedures.

The Yolo County Bar Association is a California State Bar approved provider of Minimum Continuing Legal Education programs and the program is approved for 1 hour of MCLE credit.

If you have a colleague who is not yet a member, please bring him or her to lunch and encourage him or her to join.
 

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN CASE MANAGEMENT

From the Court's website (http://www.yolocourts.com/ADR-News.html):

In the coming months, the court will introduce new practices to the case management conference and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures. A new Case Management and ADR Packet will replace the current version. It will include the major changes that will be implemented in February and will direct you to this website for further information. As soon as possible a full description of the policies will be available on the website. New forms will be on the website and downloadable. ADR will be expanded to offer voluntary mediation along with judicial arbitration. ADR, together with a streamlined CMC procedure, will contribute to a more efficient court and benefit counsel and the public

Plus, you get the good company of Andy Thompson and Chuck Jensen. The office is within walking distance to the courthouse and has the availability of law firm type amenities in a very attractive setting.
