BOOTH AT YOLO COUNTY FAIR
-- From Bar Association President Barry Melton:
"I want to remind everyone that
the Yolo County Fair is August 8th through 22nd, and we will
need volunteers to help staff the YCBA booth. Traditionally,
we don't hold meetings during the summer months, but that
doesn't mean we don't need everyone's help when it comes to
staffing our booth! In the past couple of years, at least
one incredibly dedicated person has dedicated literally days
of personal time to keeping the booth open; but I'm afraid
we've burned that person out and we'll be lucky to get 8 to
12 hours from that poor person this year (only kidding). Really,
if every YCBA member would think about giving just one four-hour
shift, we could do a tremendous job this year."

The association's group health insurance plan
(with Health Net) for members or employees of members of YCBA
has open enrollment through May 2004. Anyone interested should

A SAD DAY FOR THE SUPERIOR COURT:
-- From the Sacramento Bee:
We regret to announce the death of Michael A.
Bautista.
Within his brief time with us, Michael accomplished
numerous goals he established for himself. He demonstrated
a commitment to his community by serving as a deputy sheriff
for the Yolo County Sheriffs Department and as a volunteer
for the "Festival de la Familia" planning committee.
Michael was a loyal son, brother, grandson,
uncle, nino, cousin, nephew and friend. Most would describe
him as the "Life of the Party" for any function. Those who
knew Michael are sure to never forget his infectious personality
and smile.
Michael leaves behind many people who loved
him and who he loved dearly. Some of these people include
his parents, Angel & Maria Elena Bautista, his sister, brother-in-law
and niece, Alfonso, Roxanna B & Analise Villasenor, his grandparents,
Jesus & Lupe Rodriguez & Esperanza Bautista, and many aunts,
uncles, cousins, godchildren, nephews, nieces and a large
circle of friends. We will miss him dearly.
(Note: Michael served as the bailiff for Judge
Lebov and was the son of Angel Bautista, Judge Petre's bailiff.)

MEET THE MEMBERS
(with a request for conference
room space):
This month it's time to meet Ryan Frazier.
Ryan did his undergrad work at Pacific Union College (a small,
liberal arts college in the Napa valley), where he got a B.S.
in psychology.
He decided to go to law school because
he wanted a job that would allow him to work with his mind
and interact with interesting people. He went to law school
at Hastings.
His areas of practice include personal
injury, and worker's compensation. He is considering expanding
his practice to include some family law or estate planning.
Ryan thinks the last movie he saw in the
theater was Return of the King, but he isn't sure. When asked
his prediction for the winner of the NBA finals, Ryan said
"I want to believe it'll be the Kings."
Ryan has recently hung out his shingle
and is looking for a conference room that he could rent to
meet clients in the Woodland area. He is also available for
contract or appearance work.
He says "I'm local, dependable and I'll
probably charge you less than one of those appearance broker
services."
Ryan's contact information is as follows:
Phone: (530) 312 - 1837
Fax: (530) 406 - 1530
email: rylfrazier@hotmail.com
Address: 183 Schuler Ranch Drive,
Woodland, CA 95695
